What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient holistic therapy, which is applied to the feet and hands. It is given by the therapist, applying a firm pressure with the thumbs and fingers.
Reflexologists believe that the body is reflected on the feet. The feet are divided vertically into ten zones to locate the body's organs and sensitivities. Any discomfort found in a particular zone could show an imbalance anywhere in that zone. So, for example, the head is represented by the large toes and small toes, an organ that is, on the left side of the body will be represented on the left foot etc.
What to expect
The first Reflexology treatment will take around 1.5 hours; at this treatment a record will be taken to ensure a complete medical history is known. This is to make sure there are no health problems that might mean the person cannot be treated with Reflexology at that time.
